With the warm weather comes TICK SEASON
Following is a helpful hint for removing All types of Ticks
I find with tweezers it can be hard to get the Ticks head as well and that can be very dangerous.
I have used this method for years and was surprised to learn that many people are unaware of it. I learnt this from an Old Trotting Horse Trainer and it has been a valuable piece of Information I thought I would share. use this
Soak a cotton ball or piece of material with the pump type Hand Soap. Cover the tick with the soap-soaked Material and hold it there for a approx 20 seconds, the tick will back out on its own in its entirety.
The tick will be stuck to the material when you uncover it if not reapply for a little longer. Please make sure to dispose of the tick adequately.
This technique has worked for me for many years.and I have found it to be much easier for both the patient and the doctor.
Please make sure your patient is not allergic to the soap I haven’t found anything to be allergic yet but it is possible.
This is something everyone should know so please feel free to pass it on.
